2014 LARIMER COUNTY FAIR PARADE GRAND MARSHAL ANNOUNCED

LARIMER COUNTY TREASURER MYRNA RODENBERGER RECOGNIZED
FOR SERVICE AND DEDICATION AT ANNUAL PARADE

Loveland, CO  The 2014 Parade Grand Marshal for the Larimer County Fair & PRCA Rodeo presented by Colorado Lottery has been announced as Myrna Rodenberger, Treasurer of Larimer County.

Myrna J. Deines was born in Timnath Colorado when “Beer Barrel Polka” by Will Glahe and “In the Mood” by The Glenn Miller Orchestra were number one hits. Myrna married Jim Rodenberger in 1959; they have two children, C.J. and Rick. They also have four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Myrna and Jim have been farmers all their lives – and still are, but moved “to town” in 2006.

Myrna started her career as a Larimer County employee in 1956. She remains the longest term employee in Larimer County history. She started working in the Veteran Services Department, and then moved to the Extension Office. She later transferred to the Clerk & Recorder’s Office and then decided to throw her hat in the ring for the elected position of Clerk & Recorder in 1986. After serving in that capacity for 16 years, she ran for Larimer County Treasurer. She has faced several formidable opponents during her seven runs for office, each time winning the election with grace, dignity and hard work.

In her professional career, she has gained many awards and earned many certificates. She is a Certified Public Official, a Certified Colorado County Treasurer, and Delegation Director Chairman for the International Association of Clerks, Recorders and Elected Officials, has earned her Chancellor’s Certificate in Public Administration and has volunteered for countless charitable organizations locally; including the American Cancer Society, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Larimer County Food Distribution Center and many, many more.

"Being selected as the Grand Marshal of the 2014 Larimer County Fair Parade is definitely an honor. I've been participating in the fair and rodeo for nearly 70 years, so this is a real treat."
